I’m loving seeing the rapid progress of phased array terminals. This is the real tech breakthrough for satellite telecomms today. A big part of how I came to discover cubesats was because I was fascinated by phased array antenna design and SDR while studying high speed electronics at uni.
I’m not familiar enough, yet, to know whether it’s a real breakthrough to overlay the TX and RX antennas for Ka band because of some technical barrier, or whether it’s just not been needed before and this isn’t really big news, though.
