G’day folks!
At Ring-IR we’re working on some novel approaches to cavity ring-down spectrometry that allow us to build super-sensitive, portable, gas detecting devices. If you’re not familiar with the technique, its basically bouncing a laser about in a gas-filled cavity and watching how fast different wavelengths are absorbed in order to determine what chemicals are present in that gas.
In short what we’re doing is stuffing laboratory-grade sensitivity into a portable unit that can be carried by hand, installed onto a UGS/UAS, and maybe even sent into another atmosphere one day!
We’re looking to fill three roles in our budding, Melbourne-based company:
An electronics engineer is needed to help us take our prototype builds to the next level; designing power conditioning circuits, cleaning up EMI, and consolidating existing designs.
A software developer/engineer to help us address one or more of our skill gaps; FPGA-based digital signal processing, machine learning for matching spectra, and/or low-level embedded architectures.
An Industrial & Processing Chemist with demonstrated experience in designing and executing experimental test plans, handling hazardous materials, and chemical inventory management.
Most importantly we are presently a team of just 5 here in Australia, and as such we want to ensure that anyone joining our team is an excellent fit for both our friendly & welcoming culture, and for our dedication & passion for new technologies!
NOTE: To be eligible for a role at Ring-IR, candidates must be able to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance. Please see the following to confirm eligibility : https://www1.defence.gov.au/security/clearances/about/vetting-assessment#eligibility for details.
If you feel you match one of the aforementioned skill sets (even if you are formally trained in a different discipline) please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Feel free to check out our website, or send me an email at alex.barry@ring-ir.com!
